Michael Garrett is fighting for the money that the City of Mount Vernon owes him. In 2015, his mother was unfortunately struck by a Department of Recreation bus. The City settled the case, awarding $90,000 in damages back in February of 2018. Comptroller Reynolds has refused to process the payment to Mr. Garrett claiming there's no money in our Budget for his settlement.
